The V&A's Learning Centre
The V&A is the world’s greatest museum of art and design and home to 3,000 years’ worth of artefacts from many of the world’s richest cultures. Learning is at the heart of the V&A so when building the new Learning Centre they decided to consult the end users.
Together with the Sorrell Foundation they organised a unique research project with three schools: Leasowes School in Birmingham, Monkseaton in Newcastle and Plumstead Manor in London. From each school a team of students were chosen as Special Advisers to help the museum develop the new Learning Centre.
This film tells the story of The Learning Centre Project and highlights the purpose and strategy behind the schools’ involvement.
